The 803 at TNMOC
In 2012, myself and Claude had a private tour of TNMOC on my birthday. A very enjoyable day and so many memories flooding back on seeing some of the exhibits there. But of course, for me the highlight of the visit was seeing the Elliott 803.
Not an actual part of the 803 computer, but an essential piece of equipment when many programmers needed to prepare their programs and data for the computer.
This is a tape preparation station, and on the desk here is a Creed model 75 teleprinter with integral tape punch, and two tape readers. All of this equipment operated at 10 characters per second, so much patience was required to prepare and edit programs on these stations.
